Gold vermeil is the technique of plating sterling silver with gold. All Swim to the Moon pieces are coated with 2 microns of gold. Tarnishing of vermeil naturally occurs, but if we take care of our jewelry we can prolong the natural change. To prolong the life of your vermeil jewelry it should be removed prior to swimming, bathing, showering, washing hands, exercising, and applying lotions. The best way to care for your jewelry is to avoid any exposure to humidity and external forces
Swim to the Moon is a small jewelry brand created by greek designer stefani stoyanof and founded in texas. the brand was born in 2016, after stefani took a year long jaunt around the world.
The inspiration comes from Stefani’s love for travel, adventure, and the sea, creating a collection of jewelry with emotional and historical relevance, making comfortable pieces that travel with the wearer throughout their own adventures.
In her work, she aims to highlight the inherent beauty found in the small imperfections made by the hand through the self-taught technique of lost-cast waxing. Beginning by slowly hand carving each piece in wax. she uses no set rules and timelines to create a unique collection that one can cherish forever and not just for one season.
